1. Pivot Earring Making Workshop

Pivot is a social enterprise that employs and teaches new skills to people experiencing homelessness. Along with this, Pivot works with temporary accommodation providers to ensure their employees have daily essentials while working with them. Pivot runs sustainable jewellery making workshops where you can learn how to cut, shape, mould and polish acetate into earrings of your own design. 2. Migrateful cooking class

Migrateful focuses on supporting struggling migrants and refugees to rebuild their lives. They have a great passion for integrating communities through the love of food. A Migrateful cooking class is a chance to try 4 authentic recipes from around the world and practise a new language, as classes are led by migrant chefs. There is a wide selection of classes to choose from; private classes, online classes and more!

3. Grab a bite to eat

here’s nothing better than sharing a lovely meal with the people you love. Erpingham House is a family friendly, sustainable restaurant located in Notting Hill. They are 100% plant based, plastic-free & mostly importantly, serve amazing food! They are open on Sundays from 12pm-6pm and the menu includes a hearty Sunday roast.

4. A day out in town


Another special way to spend Mother’s Day is to have a day out in the town; visiting little boutiques and having a good coffee. Pop London is a sustainable fashion boutique that provides in-store and online shopping. All their manufacturing and sourcing is carried out with ethics and sustainability at heart. It is open on Sundays from 11am-5pm. Another great boutique is So Just Shop which is located just outside Bond Street station. So Just Shop works with small-scale artisan groups to train them, produce ethical and sustainable products, and provide women living in poverty with jobs. They offer a special Mother’s Day collection which has a variety of gift sets including jewellery, tea and cooking sets.

5. Sak Beh Pottery Classes

Sak Beh is a pottery studio that focuses on being sustainable by using recycled and reused clay. Making pottery is a great way to spend the day and bond with your mother or mother-figure. They run different classes depending on skill levels; packages include one day, five week courses and shorter classes between 2h-3h. Home pottery kits are also available on their website which can make a great gift!
