We're thrilled to bring you exciting news from our partner The Sustainable Restaurant Association. On World Food Day, October 16th, they launched the #EatForTomorrow campaign with the generous support of HSBC. The campaign isn't just a celebration; it's a powerful call to action.
The #EatForTomorrow campaign celebrates the remarkable efforts of individuals, restaurants, and change-makers worldwide who are leading the way in shaping a resilient and sustainable food system. It's a commitment to building a better, more sustainable tomorrow.
At its core, this campaign poses a fundamental question to diners and hospitality businesses worldwide: "How can we eat differently today to build a better tomorrow?" It's a question that goes beyond the dinner plate and touches the very heart of our collective future.
The campaign explores the future of food through four critical lenses:
-
A Brighter Future for Farms: Envisioning a world where farms thrive and our agricultural practices are not just sustainable but regenerative.
-
Enhancing Biodiversity and Minimising Loss: Making conscious food choices that support biodiversity and minimise waste, preserving our planet's precious resources.
-
Shifting to a More Plant-Centric Diet: The future of food is plant-powered, and the campaign encourages us to explore delicious, nutritious plant-based options.
-
Sustainable Seafood Sourcing: Exploring sustainable seafood sourcing, expanding our culinary horizons with a variety of ocean-friendly options.
The Sustainable Restaurant Association accredited restaurants on In Good Company
As part of this journey, we're excited to highlight some of The Sustainable Restaurant Association accredited restaurants we have on In Good Company where you can celebrate and make a difference:
1. Gourmet Goat
Gourmet Goat's philosophy is to create street food made from sustainable British ingredients that generate minimal food waste. They use kid goat and rose veal from UK dairy farms, by-products of the industry that would often go to waste. They're constantly seeking products to enhance sustainability, such as pickles made from waste vegetables or mature halloumi.
2. The Green
The Green is a modern take on a traditional British pub, serving fresh beers, cocktails, and naturally produced wine. They curate a list of wines sourced from small local producers who allow the grapes and wine to develop their true regional expression with minimal intervention. They're committed to being a sustainable pub and offer a diverse selection of cask and draft beers, cocktails, and reasonably priced spirits.
3. Oxo Tower Brasserie
Located against the panoramic backdrop of the Thames and the City of London, Oxo Tower Brasserie is a bustling restaurant serving modern, seasonal dishes. Their focus on sustainable dining earned them a Green Michelin Star in 2022. They've also partnered with One Planet Plate, Taste Tradition, and the Guardians of Grub to reduce food waste and protect the environment.
4. The Game Bird
Situated at the Stafford Hotel in Mayfair, The Game Bird provides a local, seasonal produce fine dining experience. Their menu showcases the best of British produce and supports local artisan producers. They offer diverse menu options, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan choices.
